Seminal vesicle agenesis is a condition that refers to the congenital absence of one or both seminal vesicles.

Seminal vesicle agenesis is a rare finding with a reported incidence of 0.08 % .

Clinical presentation

This anomaly is usually asymptomatic, but may present with infertility, low‐volume ejaculate, hematuria and perineal pain .

Pathology

Unilateral vesicle seminal agenesis is observed when complete failure of the mesonephric duct occurs before the seventh week of gestation .

Bilateral vesicle seminal agenesis is usually only seen in cystic fibrosis .

Radiographic features

Unilateral or bilateral absence of seminal vesicles, posterior to the prostate.
