Tumors of the posterior fossa in children can be remembered using the mnemonic:
- BEAM

The mnemonic is not in order of prevalence; pilocytic astrocytomas are most common.
- B: brainstem glioma
- E: ependymoma
- A: astrocytoma (pilocytic) (85%)
- M: medulloblastoma
