Granulomatous bronchiolitis
Granulomatous bronchiolitis is a pathological type of bronchiolitis (not an imaging classification) characterized by an underling granulomatous reaction involving the small airways (bronchioles).
Pathology
It is grouped as form of cellular bronchiolitis
Etiology
It may be associated with a number of causes which include
- pulmonary tuberculosis
- pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacterial infection
- pulmonary sarcoidosis
- hypersensitivity pneumonitis
- pulmonary manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease
- pulmonary manifestations of Crohn disease
- pulmonary manifestations of ulcerative colitis
- certain aspiration situations
- psyllium aspiration
- as a non-infectious complication of common variable immune deficiency (CVID)
