Convexal subarachnoid hemorrhages (cSAH) are non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhages that occur within the surface sulci of the brain (cf. basal cisternal distribution of aneurysmal SAH).
Pathology
There are various causes of convexal subarachnoid hemorrhage, some of which include:
- dural venous sinus thromboses
- cortical vein thromboses
- arteriovenous malformation
- dural arteriovenous fistula
- vasculitides
- mycotic aneurysm
- cerebral amyloid angiopathy
- reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome
- posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome
- internal carotid artery stenosis
