fetal hydantoin syndrome
The fetal hydantoin syndrome refers to a spectrum of features that can develop in a small proportion (~ 10% ) of women taking the anti-epileptic drug phenytoin (Dilantin) during pregnancy.

- microcephaly
- increased risk of intracranial bleeding
- intra-uterine growth restriction
- congenital cardiac anomalies
- facial anomalies
- congenital genitourinary anomalies
- hand - phalangeal anomalies
- triphalangeal thumb
- distal phalangeal hypoplasia
