Fungal sinusitis is a collective term referring to a number of entities, which can be divided into two groups, depending on the presence of fungal hyphae within or beyond the mucosa :

  • non-invasive: hyphae do not invade the mucosa
  • invasive: hyphae are seen invading mucosa +/- beyond
