Leaky lung syndrome
Leaky lung syndrome refers to a form of non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema.
Pathology
Pulmonary edema due to increased capillary permeability.
Radiographic features
Leaky lung syndrome is considered a mild form of a part of the spectrum of acute lung injury with ARDS at the other end of the spectrum in terms of severity . Features are:
- patchy peripheral infiltrates
- air bronchograms
- normal caliber of vessels
- varying degree of pneumonitis
