Ovarian tumors associated with endometrial thickening

There are several ovarian tumors associated with endometrial thickening and this is often due to oestrogenic effects of the ovarian tumor.

Such tumors include:

• ovarian epithelial tumors
  • endometrioid carcinoma of the ovary
    • may have synchronous endometrial carcinoma or endometrial hyperplasia, present in up to a 1/3 of cases
• ovarian sex cord-stromal tumors
  • granulosa cell tumors of the ovary
  • ovarian fibrothecoma
  • ovarian thecoma
