collet-Sicard syndrome
Collet-Sicard syndrome, also known as condylar jugular syndrome, is a constellation of cranial nerve palsies due to neoplastic or non-neoplastic lesion at the jugular foramen .
Clinical presentation
- Vernet syndrome, consisting of motor paralysis of
- motor paralysis of hypoglossal nerve (CN XII)

Etiology
Causes can be divided into neoplastic and non-neoplastic .
Neoplastic
- glomus jugulare
- schwannoma
- metastases
Non-neoplastic
- trauma
- osteomyelitis
- Paget disease
History and etymology
Frederic Collet first reported the condition in a World War I soldier who presented with a gunshot injury in 1915. Later, new descriptions were added by Jean A Sicard .
