Distribution of bronchiectasis can help in narrowing the differential diagnosis. Upper lobe bronchiectasis is typically seen in:
Rarely it may be seen with non-tuberculous mycobacterial infection (e.g. MAC infection ). Traction bronchiectasis in the upper lobes can also be seen in conditions of upper lobe pulmonary fibrosis, such as radiation fibrosis, advanced sarcoidosis, and silicosis or other pneumoconioses
