Differential diagnosis of bilateral hilar lymph node enlargement

with a cough. CXR PA and lateral shows massive bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy with the lungs being clear.The diagnosis was tuberculosis.
Bilateral hilar lymph node enlargement can arise from many causes, which include:
- sarcoidosis
- infection
- malignancy
- lymphoma: more common in Hodgkin lymphoma than non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
- carcinoma
- inorganic dust disease
- heart failure
