lipomatous lesions
Lipomatous lesions are those which originate from lipocytes or include a large fatty component. They can broadly be separated into benign and malignant processes:
Benign
- lipoma
- chondroid lipoma
- spindle cell lipoma
- pleomorphic lipoma
- lipomatosis
- lipomatosis of nerve
- lipoblastoma or lipoblastomatosis
- angiolipoma
- myolipoma of soft tissue
- hibernoma
- lipoma arborescens
- thymolipoma
- angiomyolipoma
- adrenal myelolipoma
Malignant
Many of the above entities have malignant counterparts, including:
- liposarcoma
- thymoliposarcoma
