Intracranial aneurysm (overview)
Aneurysma der
A. cerebri media: Computertomographie, 3D-Rekonstruktion (Volumen rendering).
Aneurysma der
A. communicans anterior in der computertomografischen Angiografie (CTA).
Ausgedehnte
Subarachnoidalblutung bei Aneurysma der A. cerebri media rechts. Linkes Bild native Computertomografie. Mitte CT- Angiografie als MIP und rechts als Volumen Rendering (Ansicht von oben, daher rechte Bildseite =3D rechte Patientenseite).
Pituitary
apoplexy: an update on clinical and imaging features. Aneurysm of the carotid siphon as shown on contrast-enhanced T1WI (a, arrows). Axial and coronal T2WI (b, c) show the presence of a hyperintense lesion with a peripheral hypointense rim. Contrast-enhanced MR angiography with 3D reconstruction (d) clearly shows the exact nature of the lesion
Duplicated
middle cerebral artery associated with aneurysm at M1/M2 bifurcation: a case report. a Magnetic resonance angiography showing duplicated middle cerebral artery (arrowheads) on the left and an aneurysm at the M1/M2 junction of duplicated middle cerebral artery (arrow). b Three-dimensional computed tomographic angiography also demonstrating the left duplicated middle cerebral artery and aneurysms at the M1/M2 junction of duplicated middle cerebral artery (arrow) and internal carotid artery top (small arrow)
Intracranial aneurysms, also called cerebral aneurysms, are aneurysms of the intracranial arteries. The most common morphologic type is the saccular aneurysm.
Pathology
There is not a universal classification for the types of intracranial aneurysms, resulting in a heterogeneous mix of terms based on the morphology, size, location, and etiology :
- saccular intracranial aneurysm
- fusiform intracranial aneurysm
- blood blister-like aneurysm
- dissecting intracranial aneurysm
- mycotic (infectious) intracranial aneurysm
- traumatic intracranial aneurysm
- neoplastic (oncotic) intracranial aneurysm
